“She does walk two or three miles a day so doing a 5K isn’t that big a deal,” said Chuck Roberts. Who was he speaking about? His mother, 100-year-old Mick Roberts. Mick had just competed in a 5K, finishing the 3.1-mile course in 56 minutes. Many people half her age took much longer to finish the race.
According to Mick this hilly course wasn’t really much of a challenge. There was one bad spot, but that’s it. Her family points out that she sets the bar pretty high. By walking two to three miles each day, Mick has maintained her health and amazing sense of humor. She doesn’t take any medications, is healthy, and even overcame coronavirus. Now she wakes up and strives to make people smile by spreading her joy for life. Her son, Chuck, is inspired by the fact that her mother has had her share of hardships during her life, lived to be 100, healthy, active, and engaging.
Those around Mick say that she makes people want to live their lives like she does. What a wonderful legacy. Mick is clearly living her 100 Year Lifestyle. She’s proof that you can have energy and youthful vitality at any age. If you could use some inspiration to put that pep back in your step, read the full story here.
